This is one epic first outing for the newly established Major Oscillator alias. The Agenda is a vocal driven nuwave/retrowave blend of high energy synth pop. It tells a fictional tale of a hopelessly dysfunctional couple that find themselves confronted with the reality that they're living in end times. The Agenda was written and produced in late 2019, with the final master completed in early 2020. Coincidentally, the impending sense of doom and the gut feeling we may be headed for the end game isn't too far off our current situation these days, given all that has unfolded in 2020. And like the fictional couple, we find ourselves wondering how we got here, what went wrong, and what to do about it. In the end, the couple realized they're destined be together, like it or not, choosing to overlook their love-hate relationship, their glaring incompatibilities, and reluctantly move forward and accept their fate. Yet, just like many of us are feeling now, when confronted with mortality, we prioritize only the most important things in our life, grateful for all that we've been blessed with. That's The Agenda in a nutshell.
lyrics
Routine, and sleepless nights
Instability, and mental decline
A debt of truth, solidified
Intuition, and a pathway paved in lies
It's on you, if it compels ya’
I'm just a pawn in your subversive agenda
I’ll cause disaster, you’ll enjoy the view.
But when it's over, it all comes back for you
We're off an on, and off and on
We're off and on and off and on
You turn me off, I turn you on,
You've won the fight, but I'm as good as gone.
In the midst of annihilation, Nothing’s as it seems
In her wasteland called reality, she’s lost in dreams
D drowns out the ego, M to make her see,
T to take apart, the fabric of reality.
Our fate is sealed, she wanted me to know
A simple explanation for her pain and sorrow,
A Taste of eternity , it won’t last for long
When no one knew the end game, she knew all along
We're off an on, and off and on
We're off and on and off and on
You turn me off, I turn you on,
You've won the fight, but I'm as good as gone.
A darkness is approaching, take a look outside
You cant say goodbye, just come along for the ride
And it's just a matter of time before we cross that line
A journey into chaos from intelligent design
And it seems no matter what you do, I dont go away,
-cause’ I’m a resident of your “crazy town”, and feel compelled to stay.
But could this one decision come haunt me everyday
A bittersweet demise that comes in 50 shades of grey!
We're off an on, and off and on
We're off and on and off and on
You turn me off, I turn you on,
You've won the fight, but I'm as good as gone.
Rise and shine, she said that I was talking in my sleep last night, And
prophesized a post apocalyptic tale of epic size,
Broke on through to the other side, finding out when we would die
The world ends with you by my side, we journey to the after life
Regretful thoughts first come to mind, but then I came to realize
We’ll be off and on...until the end of time
We're off an on, and off and on
We're off and on and off and on
I turn you off, you turn me on,
You’re mine tonight, Tomorrow you’ll be gone.
